A love letter I wrote…about Nobody

Okay I admit, I sympathize with you, In today’s world, Everybody is being called a genius.

I mean, Everybody is the reason for this miracle or that, and Everybody is the first to discover the next best thing.

Everybody is why the News of the World scandal was uncovered and Everybody is responsible for bringing the UK rioters to justice!

So why is Nobody taking all that acclaim? – Why is Nobody better off?

I mean, Nobody is responsible for thinking up how best to shaft people with overpriced tickets and bad traffic plans throughout the Olympics, and Nobody knows exactly how an 11-year old boy can sneak onto a plane from Manchester to Rome so easily, not to mention how nifty Nobody is at deciding on the rising costs of fuel worldwide

That right there, that’s exactly why Nobody is better off.

…and I’m trying to work out who’s smarter.

Nobody, who can afford things like food, clothes and luxuries? Or Everybody, who complains so much, despite being the reason for all this “greatness” everywhere?

That’s right, Everybody wants a medal…but does Everybody deserve one?

Maybe Everybody just wants more recognition? Surely though, if Everybody were that great, they’d think up the solutions at the same rate Nobody does?

Who knows? – One thing’s for sure; as soon as there’s some huge negative issue like ASBO‘s or low exam pass rates in schools, Everybody gets blamed…

…& that sucks right? For Everybody!

Well if nothing else, it seems Nobody seems to care, because Nobody has a heart enough to do anything to make Everybody feel better. Not Everybody, but Nobody.

So I challenge popular opinion enough to say that Everybody isn’t all that great, and that Nobody is that genius I mentioned above!

Think about it. When the chips are down & it’s clear Nobody know’s exactly who Everybody is, Everybody seems content with pointing fingers at Anybody,  identifying Nobody.

Is that all Everybody’s got? Guesswork? Ha!

So then it’s clear; Everybody needs to chill and accept that Nobody is the best there is, forever and always!

Love Dreama
 xoxo

Been there, done that?

Heard that expression before? – Of course you have, it’s a massive cliché, and one that carries a lot of greatness. Some of that greatness is in the fact that everyone has done something.

I refer here to absolutely anything - from screening calls, to burning toast and finding out there’s no more bread. 8O

We can all be a part of that phrase. Or at least that thought when someone brings up the thing you’ve done before.

Sharing our opinions on things we know about, to others, offers them a sense of security.

You know, like when someone has money woes and you say, “I know exactly how you feel“. Or, someone hates their job and you both partake in a meaningless conversation about just how crappy bosses can be – to show you actually know what it’s like.

There’s always that warm feeling you get when you Google a query, and someone’s already asked the same thing. You complain about the state of telephone customer services because of impossible language or dialect barriers, and someone else agrees. It’s a beautiful thing.

I feel like it’s kind of why we do anything. Such as going to the cinema with the big screens and the enhanced SFX (as if you weren’t familiar with a cinema) instead of waiting for the DVD release. Or read reviews about other people’s experiences; we care to share.

Now, this isn’t to say that we aren’t individual enough to discover great things without help, it only means that we’re, well, human. ;-)

Trackbacks: REIFIER | Sweden | Adidas Competition winner and More!

As it’s the beginning of a brand new month, I felt there was no better time to update you on what I’ve been up to lately…

Recent releases…

My 4-track EP REIFIER (released on April 30th) has had some great feedback and I wanted to officially say thank you! :-D So thank you, to everyone of you that listened to it, shared it with friends, posted about it, rated it, purchased it online and gave me feedback. You guys rock! :-D

The video for CTRL+ALT+DEL (track 4) was also very well received which is really exciting! I thought I’d leave the links here once again for anyone that might not have seen or heard them yet.

Trackback: Sweden…

As you know, back in March, I flew to Sweden to perform (the image above is of me with some Swedish/Congolese dancers who also performed).

It was great fun & I hoped to get some footage & images to you that were recorded on the night, but unfortunately due to issues with the technical people at the event, I still haven’t been sent anything to show you. That sucks :-| but there’s nothing I can do about it and anyway, the main point of going to Sweden was to raise money for charity which it was and I’m really pleased that I was a part of achieving that!

Trackback: Adidas Competition…

Remember the Adidas competition I had running from earlier this year in January? There was a winner! Her name is Cordel and she is from South London! :-) Cordel was lucky enough to win the exclusive Adidas Decade trainers with the limited edition keyring!

Here’s her reaction after finding out she won:

I was hoping to have a picture of her to go along with the tweet, which was one of the reasons for the hold up, but I thought it was important to share this for everybody that entered (and anybody wondering whether or not there was a winner) . A huge thank you to everybody that did enter and that publicized the competition for me. Entrants really got creative with their answers so there were lots of giggles when selecting a winner! :-D

Lastly, those of you wondering about upcoming shows, I assure you, they are coming! ;-) They’ll be listed on the gigs page shortly and in the mean-time, you can connect with me on Twitter, Facebook or you can send me an email from here, and I promise I’ll get back to you.

Remember, if you become part of my mailing list, you’ll find out about everything before anyone else & it’s really easy to join, just send me your name and email address below -

I think I’ve covered everything, but let me know if there’s anything I missed! :-)

My 5 favourite most annoying types of internet user

The internet is a place full of promise, fun and endless discovery created for your procrastination…it’s a very beautiful thing.

As with anything, there are many different classifications of online user and as with everything good, there’s an opposite to that.

I’m looking at the annoying kind of user, you know the ones who make the internet interesting, funny and outrageous. Not the normal, reasonable Wikipedia using, music-streaming kind – not us!

Today, I single out some of my favourites…

Trolls

Trolls post nasty stuff on websites that people interact with, think YouTube, Facebook and generally anywhere you can leave a comment/your opinion. These douche-bags do this with intentions to get a response or responses.

They might not actually feel the way they say they so about the thing in question, but they say something negative anyway because they’re lonely, aggressive or both. – Avoid these people, they exist only to cause trouble and get their kicks to the sound of your rage.

Haters

The haters of the online world can be slandered even more than those in real life. Because at least those in real life are okay to be publicised as being a hater.

The online kind hide behind screens away from the public with many of the qualities trolls have – leaving nasty little comments but these ones they mean. Like the troll, the hater’s comments are unjustified but are based on ignorance rather than just wanting a reaction.

The hater will call something sh*t most probably out of jealousy and misplaced love.

They will keep up this self-righteous point of view until confronted by others and/or named-and-shamed, after which they will insult relatives and close friends of the cavalry who stood up for the thing or person being hated. (Note: For definition of The Cavalry, see below).

The Cavalry

If you have’t heard of this kind, it’s because I named them myself – but you’ll recognise the traits. It is the job of The Cavalry to come to the rescue of those being trolled or hated on. Think Justin Beiber’s “Beliebers” or Nicki Minaj’s “Barbs and Kens”.

These guys will even cause criminal damage to protect  or show love to the things or people they love and have no problem giving as good as they get to a Hater of a Troll…four words: don’t mess with them.

Spammers

These guys wind me right up! Emailing me 100 invites a week to places on the other side of the globe, tweeting me in CAPS LOCK about JOINING THEIR FACEBOOK PAGE, sending me direct messages about prizes I don’t want – go away, please.

Noobs/Newbs/Newbies

Noobs (also known as newbs or newbies) are those folks who log onto a service like Twitter for the very first time and tweet something like “I’m new here, let’s go!” – Or they create a Facebook page and then install every add-on from Farmville to those really annoying ninja games after which they add everyone they know, they accept anyone they don’t that adds them  and then completely abandon the account after about a week.

Funny as that is, these guys can be quite annoying, especially if you’re shopping online and you like to read the reviews before you buy because these guys are the reason for complaints about the Mp3 player they just bought; because the shopping-cart process on the website was too difficult. 8-O Boohoo (not).

Don’t you just love the world-wide-web? ;-) – If you liked this post, then hopefully you’ll like my latest video CTRL+ALT+DEL.

Dreama published in the Guardian!

This is really cool!

I wrote a piece on my favourite music-biopic movie, choosing 8 Mile :-) – and the Guardian published it!

I was one of 4 lucky people to be featured in the online readers’ panel, and now my humble opinion is forever posted there for all to comment on!

You can read the piece here, and see some of the movies others chose too! Also, feel free to get involved in the comments section and have your say.

Whatever the weather…

Remember my recent post about there being no perfect anything? In case you missed it, I dedicated that thought to the general gist that we often do things wanting to get them right; which human and a good thing…but holding your breath waiting for the stars to align, isn’t.

It’s like planning a BBQ two sunny weeks in advance; and having torrential rainfall on the would be day. It’s also like spending hours organising your iTunes library…and having your hard-drive pack up on you…very, VERY annoying….but it happens (Trust me!)

Who want’s to know everything anyway? Like predict the future? That could be a very grim world you lived in…I recently went to see Men In Black 3 (in 3D of course!) – and without giving too much away, there was this character (the man in the middle above) who could predict alternate situations in the future.

First I thought it was awesome, until I saw that he was burdened with knowing  all the horrible things that could happen, and also knowing that he had know way to stop them…

I really think that life is about accidentally stepping in puddles in your new shoes when it rains and thanking people for doing something nice for you.

It’s also about bad days at work, finding random money in an old jacket pocket and finding out that you’ve ran out of cranberry sauce after you’ve cooked the roast & dished up! 8-O

In short – Enjoy the ride! ;-)

Bonuses? – Balderdash! – I Want Ice Cream!

Now I like a bonus as much as the next tax paying employee but c’mon!

We bid for it, we won it, we provided the space, a new shopping centre, a new village, extra transport, heightened security, that Orbit thing, and an expensive (and annoying) ticketing system where most people who bid for the 100m finals, will instead be sweating 20 miles away in Wembley Stadium watching the volleyball.

Still, London have the Olympics, which is a very beautiful thing! :-)

…But extra pay for doing your job during this time? Extra pay for policing? Extra pay for TFL employees? I’m not sure how I feel about this. One the one hand, yes – we need security to be heightened and people to be able to get where they’re going…on the other, isn’t it the job of somebody employed, to do what they’re employed to do?

I thought the rule was, Christmas holidays, bank holidays and any other general exceptions → extra money.

Is there enough extra left from the £9.3 billion budget for these bonuses?…

…because if so… yeah, what they hey – I’m asking: If there’s an extra few quid left over, can we (the general public) pretty please, all get free ice creams?

If so, I’ll have a ’99 with a flake & syrup. Ta! ;-)
