Trackbacks: REIFIER | Sweden | Adidas Competition winner and More!

As it’s the beginning of a brand new month, I felt there was no better time to update you on what I’ve been up to lately…

Recent releases…

My 4-track EP REIFIER (released on April 30th) has had some great feedback and I wanted to officially say thank you! :-D So thank you, to everyone of you that listened to it, shared it with friends, posted about it, rated it, purchased it online and gave me feedback. You guys rock! :-D

The video for CTRL+ALT+DEL (track 4) was also very well received which is really exciting! I thought I’d leave the links here once again for anyone that might not have seen or heard them yet.

Trackback: Sweden…

As you know, back in March, I flew to Sweden to perform (the image above is of me with some Swedish/Congolese dancers who also performed).

It was great fun & I hoped to get some footage & images to you that were recorded on the night, but unfortunately due to issues with the technical people at the event, I still haven’t been sent anything to show you. That sucks :-| but there’s nothing I can do about it and anyway, the main point of going to Sweden was to raise money for charity which it was and I’m really pleased that I was a part of achieving that!

Trackback: Adidas Competition…

Remember the Adidas competition I had running from earlier this year in January? There was a winner! Her name is Cordel and she is from South London! :-) Cordel was lucky enough to win the exclusive Adidas Decade trainers with the limited edition keyring!

Here’s her reaction after finding out she won:

I was hoping to have a picture of her to go along with the tweet, which was one of the reasons for the hold up, but I thought it was important to share this for everybody that entered (and anybody wondering whether or not there was a winner) . A huge thank you to everybody that did enter and that publicized the competition for me. Entrants really got creative with their answers so there were lots of giggles when selecting a winner! :-D

Lastly, those of you wondering about upcoming shows, I assure you, they are coming! ;-) They’ll be listed on the gigs page shortly and in the mean-time, you can connect with me on Twitter, Facebook or you can send me an email from here, and I promise I’ll get back to you.

Remember, if you become part of my mailing list, you’ll find out about everything before anyone else & it’s really easy to join, just send me your name and email address below -

I think I’ve covered everything, but let me know if there’s anything I missed! :-)

How many of these can you afford?

Okay so sue me…the lollipop was a cheeky attempt to get you to look – did it work?

Why am I asking you that – you’re here aren’t you!? How much did you pay for lunch today? Howabout dinner? Are you going out this weekend? Where to? How much is it to get in?

I realise how invasive these questions are, however I ask them anyway, not really wanting an answer but instead trying to make a point – next to nothing is free any-more – not things you genuinely enjoy doing, and not even necessities, they cost a fortune too.

Okay the point I’m trying to make…Paying for music is important

As an upcoming musician, I understand the importance of investing in my music, making it is very enjoyable and there’s no feeling quite like it, but it isn’t free. Music costs time and money.

This post is one to inform and to encourage you fellow music lovers out there, of the importance of supporting both independent and mainstream artists by buying their CD’s, merchandise or going to their shows.

When I’m looking for something to listen to, either from one of my favourite artists or something totally new, I want it to be good. I’ll complain if I don’t like it – but if I do like it, I’ll tell people, buy it & become a fan.

Not necessarily because I care about what car that artist wants to fill the tank of today, nor because of their desperate need to pay Jeeves who just hoovered the leather seats in their home cinema (clearly sarcasm, no angry emails please) – but rather because I know that that piece of music once owned, experienced live or referenced on a T-shit, lasts forever (unless I ruin the T-shirt in the dryer, break the CD and get so drunk at the live show, I don’t remember it…but I digress)…

Also, that artist is then able to pay engineers, producers and etc, allowing he or she to continue making music to that same awesome quality – all for me to enjoy. :-D

Think about it, you complain as soon as it looks like you’re being made to wait for the music you want, or if the label or the independent artist stops what they are doing because they can no longer afford to continue – (although usually in those cases it becomes a conspiracy theory or ‘label politics’)…

Who else likes fried chicken…?

A KFC bargain-bucket costs about £10 ($16) – you eat it, enjoy the crispy breadcrumby skin hoping the dodgy looking employee who served it to you didnt spit in the thing after you demanded for only thigh pieces and flat-out refused wings….and then after an hour, you need some Pepto Bismol – and the toilet…

I just bought…Legendary Weapons by the legends that are The Wu-Tang Clan, for only £8.99 and guess what? – It’s dope and it’ll last forever (since umm, CD’s don’t taste so good, LOL)!

So I urge you, please buy the music you love – It makes a huge difference!
